[WEEK 3, TUESDAY SOMETIME: Lelouch]
[HEY IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER MEETING OF SHADY PEOPLE]
[Magilou is napping in a tree branch today! dressed in her bikini rather than her bookskirt. bother her?]

throws it up
at her in the tree
I guess ]
no subject
[she shrieks]
[bolts awake]
[and promptly falls from the tree]
[THANKS, LELOUCH]
no subject
standing there
but he may have taken one or two steps back just so that she lands. right in front of him.
thank goodness the tree isn't that high, he's not about to commit accidental murder!! ]
no subject
[she lands on the ground with a soft whump, and immediately pops up onto her feet to give Lelouch a >8( look]
How dare you interrupt a witch's nap! A curse on you! A curse on you for a thousand years!
no subject
I hope you had a good nap? [ that's the most bland thing he's going to say to her this entire conversation. ]
[ gently ignores anything about the curse tbh he's cursed enough ]
no subject
It was wonderful until an annoying gnat decided to show up.
What do you want?
no subject
[ he'll shrug. ]
I can't come and check up on my favourite witch?
no subject
[>:T]
I can smell the ulterior motive on you like a fresh spring daisy.
no subject
[ points at akira, shames you subtly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
that last line pulls a laugh out of him, though. ]
Fine. Guilty as charged. [ there's a sharpness in his gaze that magilou has probably seen before, when lelouch is thinking. ] I'm thinking a trade. I know you have information on this game. So do I. Let's see where we overlap.
no subject
[she arches her brows, the humor leaving her expression, replaced with an uncharacteristic seriousness]
Oh? I like shady deals like this one.
[a grin; he'd be the very first person to trust her like this]
I'm afraid you'll have to start, as I have no clue what kind of information you're looking for.
no subject
[ well. she's the first person to trust him like this, too, so I guess that makes them even somehow. truly a bond in their shady hearts. ]
Clarifications, mostly. Possible motives. Surely you must suspect people in this game. [ like, he knows you're a shitposter, but you brought up good points at the meeting, magilou, so you surely must have given it some measure of thought. ]
There's something that strikes me odd about the roles, too.
no subject
I have my suspicions, but in the interest of not wanting to put anyone under fire who doesn't deserve it since none of my suspicions can be confirmed with anything concrete, I'll be keeping names to myself.
[sorry Lelouch, she doesn't wanna throw someone under a bus accidentally :( . . . surprisingly enough]
What's struck you as odd about the roles?
no subject
so yeah he recognises those tactics when he sees them. ]
That's fair enough. I don't want to name names either, mostly because the information that we have is so scant that we very well might be accusing the wrong person.
[ that's one thing they both agree on! at least. he'll sit down under the shade of the tree though, and invite her to join him. ]
How... stacked they are. The numbers just don't add up. Like I said yesterday, now that we can't vote for the partners of the deceased, we're losing a minimum of four people every week, and that's assuming that whoever has the killing role picks only one victim. More victims and the number grows exponentially. Three killing roles means three victims, that brings up the numbers to eight lost in a week.
[ he frowns. ]
When we only have thirty odd people left - it's almost as if this game is designed for those without roles to fail.
no subject
Uho. You had a similar thought, then. That those not given the agency and protection of a role are nothing but cannon fodder.
[it had crossed her mind, on more than one occasion. but, that said. . .]
I didn't really like that line of thinking, though. So I decided that even though I don't have a role, I'm not going to let myself fall into that trap of being good for nothing but dying.
no subject
I didn't exactly mean it in that way. [ the being good for nothing by dying part, at least. and he dislikes being referred to as canon fodder. every piece on the board has a purpose, after all. ] My point was actually more along the lines that perhaps there's something that we're not considering to the fullest yet.
If this is a game, surely there must be a way for either side to win, although the odds seem to be unnaturally stacked in favour of our killers. We can assume that their win condition is for them to kill off everyone else on the island. With the partners, it's easy to thin the field.
We're playing into their win condition every time we execute someone. [ even though it's compulsory to vote off someone, which is why he hates this game!!! ]
Surely there must be another win condition. And if there are other roles, they should be designed to help those who don't have roles. [ like the items. although wtf was that basket thing last week ]
no subject
. . . I'm not convinced the win condition for the killers is just to kill off everyone.
[she had alluded to as much during the meeting, so she doesn't mind being honest about that]
Perhaps they're aiming for another role in particular, but have no way of determining who may or may not have said role. So they can only strike out randomly until they finally hit their target.
Maybe eliminating that role is their true purpose.
no subject
[ not that he doesn't think that Magilou doesn't have a good point. it's just that. without enough information, everything is so difficult to make head or tail of, unless they trash out every single possibilty? ]
Does it count then, if they don't kill the role personally? We still don't know how the partners die on Sunday. If they're executed by someone who isn't a killing role, would it qualify?
I don't think it's that simple either.
no subject
It might not be. Who knows? Everything we have so far is speculation.
You know, if you're right and there are roles put there meant to help the rest of us, it must be frustrating for them to be unable to share that information with us so publicly.
no subject
[ he laughs. ] There's nothing stopping people from revealing a role if they want to.
Although that might subject them to a strike and they're supposed to deal with the consequences on their own, so whether anyone is enough of a risk taker? Your guess is as good as mine.
no subject
[the rule does say if a role is revealed, everyone else should deal with it themselves. like adults]
So it's less risking a strike, and more risking making themselves a target for our killers. Riiight?
no subject
Essentially. I'm more interested in anyone who can bring information, however.
no subject
[YEAH MAGILOU CAN'T IMAGINE WHY NO ONE TRUSTS THE SHADY WITCH]
no subject
... That's because I don't have a role, either.
no subject
You know, technically I never asked if you did or not.
[AWFULLY DEFENSIVE THERE, LULU]
no subject
I don't see any point in hiding it, since it's more likely than not that you don't have a role, either.
[ odds of probability and all that jazz. ]
no subject
Well, you're right about that. They probably realized I'd be the absolute worst person to give a role.
[since she's just. herself. shitposty and all]
But it also means that coming by information is a lot more difficult.
no subject
On the other hand, you would also be one of the better people to give a role to, since no one would believe you have a role.
[ he'll shrug. ] I wouldn't be surprised if my asking around has sent out alarm bells of a sort.
no subject
[SHE KNOWS HERSELF]
I've been asking around, too. I wonder if this means I also have a target on my back?
