Uho. You had a similar thought, then. That those not given the agency and protection of a role are nothing but cannon fodder.
[it had crossed her mind, on more than one occasion. but, that said. . .]
I didn't really like that line of thinking, though. So I decided that even though I don't have a role, I'm not going to let myself fall into that trap of being good for nothing but dying.

I didn't exactly mean it in that way. [ the being good for nothing by dying part, at least. and he dislikes being referred to as canon fodder. every piece on the board has a purpose, after all. ] My point was actually more along the lines that perhaps there's something that we're not considering to the fullest yet.
If this is a game, surely there must be a way for either side to win, although the odds seem to be unnaturally stacked in favour of our killers. We can assume that their win condition is for them to kill off everyone else on the island. With the partners, it's easy to thin the field.
We're playing into their win condition every time we execute someone. [ even though it's compulsory to vote off someone, which is why he hates this game!!! ]
Surely there must be another win condition. And if there are other roles, they should be designed to help those who don't have roles. [ like the items. although wtf was that basket thing last week ]

. . . I'm not convinced the win condition for the killers is just to kill off everyone.
[she had alluded to as much during the meeting, so she doesn't mind being honest about that]
Perhaps they're aiming for another role in particular, but have no way of determining who may or may not have said role. So they can only strike out randomly until they finally hit their target.
Maybe eliminating that role is their true purpose.

[ not that he doesn't think that Magilou doesn't have a good point. it's just that. without enough information, everything is so difficult to make head or tail of, unless they trash out every single possibilty? ]
Does it count then, if they don't kill the role personally? We still don't know how the partners die on Sunday. If they're executed by someone who isn't a killing role, would it qualify?
I don't think it's that simple either.
no subject
It might not be. Who knows? Everything we have so far is speculation.
You know, if you're right and there are roles put there meant to help the rest of us, it must be frustrating for them to be unable to share that information with us so publicly.
no subject
[ he laughs. ] There's nothing stopping people from revealing a role if they want to.
Although that might subject them to a strike and they're supposed to deal with the consequences on their own, so whether anyone is enough of a risk taker? Your guess is as good as mine.
no subject
[the rule does say if a role is revealed, everyone else should deal with it themselves. like adults]
So it's less risking a strike, and more risking making themselves a target for our killers. Riiight?
no subject
Essentially. I'm more interested in anyone who can bring information, however.
no subject
[YEAH MAGILOU CAN'T IMAGINE WHY NO ONE TRUSTS THE SHADY WITCH]
no subject
... That's because I don't have a role, either.
no subject
You know, technically I never asked if you did or not.
[AWFULLY DEFENSIVE THERE, LULU]
no subject
I don't see any point in hiding it, since it's more likely than not that you don't have a role, either.
[ odds of probability and all that jazz. ]
no subject
Well, you're right about that. They probably realized I'd be the absolute worst person to give a role.
[since she's just. herself. shitposty and all]
But it also means that coming by information is a lot more difficult.
no subject
On the other hand, you would also be one of the better people to give a role to, since no one would believe you have a role.
[ he'll shrug. ] I wouldn't be surprised if my asking around has sent out alarm bells of a sort.
no subject
[SHE KNOWS HERSELF]
I've been asking around, too. I wonder if this means I also have a target on my back?
