[at some point, these two are finally getting around to burning that weird. . . volleyball effigy of Lucina. they probably do it on the beach, near the bonfire, because burning an effigy near an already lit source of flame is the easiest thing to do]

[oh. and they probably have sea-salt ice cream. or at least, Magilou does. she nibbles at it idly as she watches the flames dance. but the silence is broken by--]

Hey, Lucina.

Now that we know evil Jack killed a guy, did anything weird happen on Thursday night when he was with you and Laura?

I was thinking. About that effigy we're burning.

[she gestures to the fire, twirling her now-empty ice cream stick around one finger]

I speculated the other day that maybe whoever set it up was trying to tell us something. And after that trial, I though. . . well. What if they're trying to tell us the identity of someone who has a role?

Maybe Jack checked you, and found out you were a Siren, but couldn't actually tell anyone due to the restrictions of his role. And so. . . he set up the effigy instead.
