[she waits until Lucina has been fussed over and taken care of to approach Bellamy, wherever he may be. and she makes sure there is no one around when she does, too. nobody needs to overhear the questions she's about to ask him]

Bellamy.

[her tone is light and conversational, like she's about to ask him about the weather! or something]

I believe our lines of information are criss-crossing here and there. How fun! Several people have given me your name, so. . .

I want to confirm a few things with you. Let's chat. ☆

[she links her hands behind her head and rocks back and forth. an idle movement while she thinks about her words]

I got your name from two people who told me to trust you in the event they died.

Vriska, a Siren.

And Lucina. . . the final Wickie.

[the curl of her smile is, as always, languid and devoid of anything]

. . . you're stuck between a rock and a hard place, huh?

[Bellamy turns to face her more fully, crossing his arms as he regards her.]

Seems like you are, too. I'm trying to get them to work together.

[Like everyone was going on about at the trial, oops.]

Mmyep!

[her cheer in that response is not genuine. but hey. . . that's how she works]

They do say birds of a feather flock together. Or something.

I've been helping Vriska since last week, through a mutual contact of ours who first gave me her name. They and I worried that the final Wickie was not working in the best interest of everyone.

Obviously, I know now that theory is wrong.

[she is completely convinced that Lucina is working in the interests of everyone now. it helped that she trusted her long before the Wickie talk happened]

[Bellamy nods, expression still closed off. He's not really made for this—all this sneaking around and lying and hiding things. It's just not the type of person or leader he is, even if he played at it out of desperation once. Look where that got him.]

Lucina's trying, but they're all in a tough spot. We're trying to figure out the right way to finish this.

[He sighs.]

I don't want anyone else to die.

[meanwhile, this is. . . pretty much Magilou's forte. it is, perhaps, the reason why four weeks of not knowing anything had been driving her crazy]

I don't think Lucina wants anyone else to die, either. She was. . . [hm] She hesitated when I asked her if she planned on killing the remaining Sirens this week.

[a pause]

. . . do Vriska and the remaining Siren know they've been lied to, according to the Wickie?

We're going to talk soon. I don't think Vriska is buying what the Chiefs have been telling her, but Lucina hasn't given me all of the details. She says she can't. Rules of the role or something.

[a hum]

I didn't really believe that when it came from Jack, but I do believe Lucina. She left a lot of details out for me, too. Such as which Chief is the liar, and which isn't. . . the name of the final Siren. . . what the Chiefs meant when they told us we're already home and can't go home all at once. . .

[it's. a little frustrating, to still be in the dark. but she trusts her roommate, and that is that]

[It is frustrating, enough to drive him crazy.]

We just have to trust Lucina and Vriska. It's our only choice.

[. . . heh]

I made a promise to both of them. To Vriska, I promised to keep the final Siren safe.

And to Lucina. . . I promised to finish what she started, if ever a situation where she died and I remained alive occurred.

[she. she knows both of those are contradictory]

What about you, Bellamy?

I promised Vriska I would protect the Sirens.

[He says it quietly, something vulnerable in his voice, because he knows he's been failing.]

And I promised Lucina I wouldn't let anything happen to her. That I wouldn't let her do this alone.

[something. . . softens in her expression at his promise to Lucina. something almost grateful]

Thank you.

[???? an expression of gratitude??? a genuine, earnest "thank you."]

I couldn't really have her back up until now, because I didn't know the truth. But you were there for her, and that's enough.

[He nods at the thanks, but he's not great at accepting it, because he doesn't know how much help to Lucina he's actually been.]

I think she can get us out of here, Magilou.

So do I.

[that is also earnest, which is so very unlike the facade she's put forth for everyone else these past four weeks]

. . . but she's human. Very human, you know? I believe in the strength of her heart, and I believe she will carry us off this island by the strength of her back and shoulders. But--

[. . .]

Hey. . . can you make one last promise? A promise to a witch who hasn't given you much reason to trust her, but who believes in the same people you do.

[Bellamy hasn't been great at keeping his promises lately, but he nods again anyway.]

What is it?

. . . if something does happen to Lucina, and I'm not taken out by the partner rules. . .

Help me finish what she started. Don't do it alone-- include me in on your plans.

[of course, she knows the circumstances would have to be extra special for her to still be around if Lucina is taken out, but. she's seen it happen, right? and if it does happen?]

[she wants to keep her promise]

[That's easy enough to do. But then again, if someone kills Lucina, he'll probably get executed for killing them, so it might be short lived.]

She needs more people who care about her.

[but hey, it's a start]

She's been carrying a heavy burden all by herself since Jack died.

I can't help but admire it.

She's strong, but I'm afraid she's going to run herself into the ground. She reminds me of someone back home.

[Who... also had a habit of running herself into the ground.]

[hmmm. . . she perks up]

Don't worry! I'll make sure she gets plenty of rest! I'll be taking her for a super special girl talk session at the hot springs, for sure!

I didn't know there was much to have girl talk about around here.

[she grins]

Since you're not a girl, you don't get to know. She's my partner; we totally get to have secrets.
