[She'll find Yona near the edge of the jungle - she's sort of eyeing the path, debating whether or not to try walking to the flower field. Magilou's approach keeps her from doing that, though, and she turns to her with an expression of muted surprise.]

Questions? Um... okay. [Her brows furrow.] What did you want to ask?

[props her hands on her hips and leans forward]

Are you the one with the role that reassigns partners?

[GOD THIS IS NOT EVEN THE FIRST TIME YONA HAS BEEN ASKED IF SHE HAD A ROLE]

No. I'm not.

[Equally blunt.]

[LOOK SHE GOT SUSPICIOUS AND EXPECTS PEOPLE TO LIE!!]

Sigh. I suppose that would've been too easy. But it seemed worth asking, anyway!

[did... magilou just say "sigh" out loud instead of sighing]

If I had a role like that, I would have kept yelling at the Chiefs to let me change things right then and there. [...and then, after a moment -] I wouldn't have let Keith and Hayner...

. . . well, I thought perhaps that was your form of yelling. Because no matter how much you yell, role constraints are role constraints, aren't they?

[she shrugs]

If that role can only change them on Mondays, and not Fridays or Saturdays after people die, then that isn't the role's fault.

...I'm not as subtle as you think I am, Magilou.

[It pains her to admit that, but it's the truth.]

I don't have a role at all. I wish I did, though - maybe if I did, I would actually be able to help everyone, instead of being the one that gets helped all the time.

No, that's just an excuse.

[There has to be something she can do, even without a role. It's just a matter of finding it.]

[truthfully, Magilou can kind of sympathize. she wasn't given a role either, and trying to dig up information on said roles in a game where everyone was so tight-lipped was, naturally, extremely difficult. the lack of knowledge had been killing her these past three weeks, and it's only the reveal of the Wikcies and the Sirens that keeps her sated right now]

Well! Think of it this way. If you had been given a role, what kind of role would you want it to be?

...the helpful kind, I guess.

[That's not especially specific. Yona seems to know that, because she follows it up.]

Maybe the kind that could stop someone from being killed, if they were chosen by the Sirens. If we both picked the same person, then the Sirens just wouldn't be able to kill anyone at all.

[Of course that wouldn't really help much if the remaining Wickie decides to go hunting themselves...]

That role actually sounds fairly plausible within the confines of this game. I wonder if one actually exists?
