[WEEK 5, SATURDAY POST-TRIAL: Vriska]

[Magilou does a lot of wandering after the trial. she goes where her feet lead, be they to other people or to isolation, and she doesn't really stop to think about it]

[her feet eventually lead her to the bonfire, where Vriska awaits. and after a moment's hesitation, she approaches, arms folded]

Well, at least you're keeping warm.

[ Vriska tilts her head, smiling at Magilou. ]

Pull up a chair and you can stop freezing your ass off, too.

Are you surprised? I imagine plenty of people want to get a few last words in, right?

[she does as instructed though, tugging one of the chairs until it's close enough for her to soak in the heat of the bonfire, before plopping right down onto it]

I don't really know what the big deal is. I mean, I was worried we'd completely fuck up the trial! But somehow, after five weeks of fucking it up, we managed to somehow not do that for once! We will all be fine.

[ ... ]

Not sure about you, though. You might be super screwed.

[ha. she just grins]

From Nino, an eye. From Lucina, her ability to feel pain and a broken nose. I can handle whatever they throw at me.

[she shrugs, and links her hands behind her head. she is. . . totally not worried!]

So. . . what would have happened had we not voted for an actual guilty party?

I'm not convinced you'll live, Magilou. But I've been wrong before. I hope for your sake I am! But man, I sure can't fault you for sticking to your principles, I guess.

[ ... ]

In my final conversation with Hal, he told me he can control the volcano. In a way, you could say he's the volcano spirit. That said, I don't know if he would have killed us all. Probably not? But it wasn't a risk I was willing to take. That's pretty much how he was able to buy my silence.

[spinatalltale]

Two strike system, hm? [she waves a hand] My first infraction. I'm not convinced I'll die; and I suppose I have a little bit of recklessness in me, too.

[she cants her head to the side]

He really put us in a bind. [. . .] I'm actually not convinced that he didn't purposefully keep the Hangman card up his sleeve until the last minute, just for "entertainment."

There's no doubt in my mind that's exactly what he did. Akira and I were the last cards in his deck, and he played us perfectly!

[ ... ]

No, no. Don't misunderstand. I can't really do the "love" thing.

[ha ha ha]

I just think he's the most interesting person here, that's all.

[she downplays it]

[ quirks a brow, grinning at her crookedly. ]

I know what I saw! What I'm still seeing, actually, you dork. I'm not gonna tell anyone. Mostly because it is already ridiculously obvious to anyone who gets within 10 feet of the two of you and has functioning eyeballs.

I'm serious.

[she's staring at the fire now, refusing to look at Vriska. what comes next is a bit of raw honestly, likely brought on from the stress and exhaustion of the trial. . . and her thinking about what tomorrow holds]

. . . I don't know what this feeling is.

... you know, honestly, I get that.

[ Her smile drops and she looks away, into the fire. ]

Trolls don't have the same concept of romance that humans do. One kind of romantic partnership seems frankly ridiculous to us! We have four different kinds. I kind of wonder if one of them would suit you and Akira, because you two have always kind of struck me as a perfect fit. It's called moirallegiance. Two moirails balance each other out! Like keep each other in check, or calm each other down. It is kind of like being their guardian. You're protecting their heart, and they're protecting yours! Moirails are fated by destiny to look after each other. If I really had to relate it to a human kind of relationship, I'd say it's something similar to soulmates.

[that. that gets her to look away from the bonfire to regard Vriska with a tired, quiet look. it's the phrase, "you're protecting their heart, and they're protecting yours," that gets to her the most. because when she thinks about it. . .]

[didn't this all start when Akira vowed to help her pick up the broken pieces of said heart? heh]

[she keeps her commentary light, because she's no good at talking about feelings]

I don't really know if I believe in soulmates.

It may not be exactly analogous. But you should think about it! Human romance can be so simplistic, I thought I'd introduce you to some new ideas. Consider it me paying you back for your help.
